Coordinate upgrades with roof work
Why windows matter for the roof system
Many leaks blamed on roofing actually begin at window flashing, siding transitions, or wall penetrations. If you are planning a roof replacement or roof repair, we can help you coordinate window replacement with proper exterior detailing so water is directed away from the building envelope.
Typical window upgrade outcomes
- Reduced drafts and better indoor comfort.
- Improved water management with correct flashing integration.
- Lower condensation risk when ventilation and sealing are balanced.
- Cleaner exterior appearance when paired with trim and siding updates.
Start with an inspection
Not sure where the water is coming from? A roof inspection can help you prioritize roof issues first, then coordinate window and exterior improvements.

Why coordinate windows with roofing?
Many leaks blamed on the roof actually start at window head flashing, sill pans, or siding transitions. When you replace the roof and windows together (or in the right order), we can integrate flashing and drainage so water is directed away from the building envelope. That reduces callbacks and improves long-term performance.
What happens if I only replace the roof?
You can still get a great roof. We will flash around existing windows correctly and note any problem areas. If windows are old or leaking, we can recommend sequencing: sometimes it makes sense to do windows first so the roofer can tie new head flashing into the new window units.
Do you install windows?
We focus on roofing and exterior envelope details. For window installation we work with trusted partners or your chosen window contractor. We coordinate schedules and flashing details so the roof and window work line up and you get a single, clear scope for the exterior.
How do I know if my leak is from the roof or the window?
A roof inspection can help. We trace where water is entering—often it is at the window head, a corner, or a siding transition rather than the roof plane itself. Once we identify the source, we recommend the right fix and whether to include window or siding work.
